ERaCLE will tackle the further developmet and eventual validation of a fast tool for the preliminary design of propeller based engine configurations from an acoustic point of view. This objective will be achieved throughout a WT test campaign to measure the near-field and far-field acoustic propagation of a pushing and wing mounted propeller-based propulsion, parameterized w.r.t. propeller design features, installation configurations, and different kind of aerodynamic flows generated by the wing through controlled boundary layers. WT test data will be collected, post-processed and exploited for further development and validation of a fast engineering toolset for the preliminary design of propeller-wing arrangements vs. acoustic performance. The design, manufacturing, assembling, and instrumentation of the WT model comprehensive of all the systems to perform the challenging research work are part of the Action.
