Integration Rotating Stand

The Integration Rotating Stand (IRS) in its different versions, is designed to support the HALO, IHAB and CYGNUS modules for the AIT activities with their THA (Transport Handling Adapter) assembled.

The IRS design is based on a base frame with four screw-jacks; to allow transport operations the base frame is provided with four supports for air cushions, alternatively four skates without brakes can be installed.

The base frame is composed of two welded frames connected by two structural steels. The four screw-jacks are used to block and to level the IRS with respect to the horizontal plane (ground).

The IRS is equipped with 4 lifting points. Through the lifting points and the IRS’s slings (lifting kit) it is possible to hoist the system (without payload).

The driving system is a gear motor. The motorized driving wheel is installed on the welded frame and, at opposite side of it, an idle wheel is foreseen; the idle wheel is mounted with bearings suitable to support the foreseen load and guarantee an adequate sliding.
